The Prey Veng Provincial Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Consumer Protection, Competition, and Fraud Repression (CCF) branch, conducted a field inspection of 18 fuel stations and depots across Prey Veng City, Peareang, and Svay Antor districts. The operation aimed to monitor stock levels and price compliance. Findings revealed that while major stations adhere to Ministry of Commerce (MoC) pricing, several small-scale depots have suspended operations due to procurement difficulties from parent companies. Additionally, some stations were found selling above the regulated price, citing high-cost new inventory. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure market transparency and prevent price gouging during this period of supply volatility.
