PM HUN MANET ISSUES STRICT ORDER TO INTENSIFY CRACKDOWN ON ONLINE SCAMS

PHNOM PENH — Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has issued a stern directive to competent authorities and all relevant forces to continue the relentless crackdown on technology-based fraud and online scams without hesitation.

During a plenary cabinet meeting held on April 23, 2026, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation and gratitude to authorities at all levels for their active efforts and the significant results achieved in combating online fraud.

Samdech Thipadei emphasized that existing laws must be strictly and effectively enforced without compromise or exception. He further clarified that these operations are ongoing and will not cease following the Khmer New Year period, contrary to some public suggestions. The directive aims to ensure maximum security for the public and maintain the integrity of the nation’s digital environment.
