**PHNOM PENH:** Lieutenant General Mali Socheata, Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia, officially announced that on Saturday, March 28, 2026, the Cambodia Liaison Group (CLG) coordinated a vital monitoring mission for the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) along the border in Banteay Meanchey Province.
According to official sources, the mission commenced at 8:25 AM in the Prey Chan Village area. The AOT is reportedly tasked with observing, verifying, and reporting on the ground situation to ensure full compliance with the measures outlined in the Joint Declaration following the implementation of the ceasefire. The press release further clarified that this visit marks a transitional phase in the mission’s leadership. The rotating chairmanship of the AOT, currently held by Malaysia, is scheduled to be handed over to the Philippines.
